English Training

EQUALS courses are taught in English and therefore you are required to demonstrate English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing by completion of an English language test.

PTE-A and IELTS Academic (International English Language Test System) are preferred English language proficiency qualifications. The minimum English language entry requirement for most courses is IELTS 6.0 (no skill band less than 5.5), or equivalent.

Some VET and higher education courses require a higher assessment level.  Please check our Course pages for details.  If your English language proficiency does not yet meet the standard, EQUALS will provide guidance in securing the necessary English training for your studies.

The final decision on acceptance of any applicant will be based on an interview with EQUALS or our approved Education Agent. If, once the course has commenced, difficulties arise with the level of English proficiency required, then the student is encouraged to speak initially to the Admissions team who can coordinate support services.

If you do not yet have the required English level, make sure you apply to EQUALS well before the starting date of the course you wish to study.

You will need to join a package course with English as your preliminary course and one of our visa accredited courses as your primary course of study.

EQUALS can package your qualification with an appropriate English course. To learn more about English training that is available to you, please email our Admissions team at admissions@equals.edu.au.
