The Certificate III in Individual Support CHC33015 (Disability) offers students a holistic approach to caring for people with a disability. Successful completion of the Certificate III in Individual Support CHC33015 qualifies graduates to work as Personal Care Workers in the Community Services and Residential Disability Care Sector. This certification offers an entry pathway into the Diploma of Nursing HLT54121 and Diploma of Community Services CHC52015 courses.

PLEASE NOTE: The CHC33015 Certificate III in Individual Support has been superseded, you must complete your qualification within the Teach Out period, i.e. you must complete your qualification no later than 31st July 2024. In order to receive your qualification by this date, you must have submitted all course documentation and met your course requirements by no later than 31st May 2024. If you do not complete all requirements by this date, you may choose to be transferred to the replacement qualification however this will incur additional costs, assessment requirements and Work Integrated Learning requirements to you.  You can register your interest for the new qualification for expected 2023 intake here.

Entry Requirements

A current and valid National Police Check (dated within 12 months) is a mandatory requirement for this course. All applicants are advised that they will be required to produce an acceptable NPC on or prior to commencement of the course.

Please note that online checks are also accepted.

If you currently hold a Department of Communities & Social Inclusion (DCSI) Screening Check for working in the Aged Care Sector and with Vulnerable People please talk with our Admissions team about requirements for screening checks.

Please note that the outcome of any screening check may affect industry placement opportunities, and that this is at the discretion of host facilities.

You will also need to sign a declaration stating that you are physically fit to carry out the duties of a Care Worker.

Work Integrated Learning

This course includes 120 hours of industry placement in an approved disability care (or equivalent) facility setting. The placement is included as part of the course duration.

Please note that work placement is a compulsory part of this course. Placement offers are subject to supply and may affect course duration.
