To help cultivate and nurture our youngest people is a vocational calling that requires care and empathy, as well as creativity and excitement. Our diploma graduates can confidently enter industry as early childhood educators knowing that they have a balance of skills, knowledge and attitudes that are valued by industry leading employers. They are equipped with the capacity to design and implement curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. and may also have responsibility supervising volunteers and other staff.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
No occupational licensing, certification or specific legislative requirements apply to this qualification at the time of publication.
Under the Education and Care Services National Law (2011) the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) publishes lists of approved early childhood education and care qualifications and information regarding regulatory requirements here: www.acecqa.gov.au.

Your eligibility for government subsidised training may be based on your employment status and any training you’ve already completed.

Eligible students will be entitled for loans up to a capped amount. Students will need to contribute the difference if the total course fee exceeds the loan cap for a course. A loan cap of $16,788 applies to this course.

As part of its commitment to holistic training, EQUALS provides students with additional study and personal development in the following modules:
The packaging rules for this qualification require a total of 15 units of competency, made up of 13 core units and 3 elective units. EQUALS has taken a decision to package the CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care which is 17 additional units. Candidates successfully completing all assessment and Work Integrated Learning (WIL) requirements will be able to exit on successful completion of all CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care units.
