Course Introduction

CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry is the nationally recognised White Card training required for individuals seeking to enter the construction industry in Australia. This unit provides learners with the essential knowledge and practical understanding required to work safely on construction sites and to comply with workplace health and safety (WHS) legislation.

The course develops awareness of common construction hazards, risk control measures, emergency response procedures, and safe workplace practices. Participants will also learn how to correctly select, fit, and use personal protective equipment (PPE), and how to communicate and report health and safety concerns within a construction environment.

Successful completion of this unit is a mandatory requirement before undertaking construction work on most Australian construction sites.

 


Course Overview

This course provides foundational construction industry safety training and covers the following key areas:
