In late 2024, the joint Corporate and Academic Governing Boards of EQUALS released a Statement outlining our transformative approach to AI integration. Here’s how we’re leading the way:

• Active Learning & Engagement: Transitioning to flipped classrooms where students explore materials ahead of time, enabling richer discussions and hands-on problem-solving in class.
• Innovative Assessments: Redefining assessments to emphasise understanding through in-class activities, verbal presentations, and critical analysis.
• Responsible AI Use: Teaching students to harness AI ethically while evaluating its reliability and accuracy.
• Educator Support: Empowering our learning and teaching staff to responsibly integrate AI into their workflows, freeing up time to create engaging, impactful lessons.

At EQUALS, we see AI as a companion to learning—not a shortcut to bypass it. By embedding these principles into our teaching and assessment practices, we’re preparing students to thrive in a digital world with integrity and confidence.
