This short course is designed for support workers who require the skills and knowledge required to prepare and provide medication assistance and complete medication documentation. This short course also involves supporting a client to self-administer medication. It is best suited to support workers who are employed or who are otherwise able to demonstrate competency in a suitable workplace.

Enrolment Options

Participants select one of two convenient enrolment options:

Option 1: Professional Development Course (Certificate of Completion)
  • Complete the course online and receive a Certificate of Completion.
  • This option does not include the Workplace Observation assessment and is ideal for professional development without the nationally recognised unit of competency.

Option 2: Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment (HLTHPS006)
  • Complete all assessment requirements to receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
  • You must have access to a qualified workplace supervisor (e.g., Registered Nurse, Enrolled Nurse) who can verify your competency.
  • *If eligible for subsidised training (see Participant Eligibility Criteria at www.skills.sa.gov.au):
    • You must hold or be completing HLTAAP001 Recognise Healthy Body Systems.
    • This unit can be completed as part of the CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set.
  • Enrol now in the nationally recognised short course.

  • This unit can be completed as part of the CHCSS00070 Assist Clients with Medication Skill Set.
